The Branch 37th AGM was held on 26 March during the Annual Meeting at the
University of York. Copies of the Minutes will be sent to all members together
with the Agenda for next year's AGM. Reports and accounts for 2002 have already
been distributed.
Dr Kelvin McCracken, who was co-opted to fill the role of Branch Treasurer/Assistant
Secretary last year following the election of Dr Paul Hocking as President,
was formally elected unopposed and we are grateful to him for volunteering
his help.
This year Professor Geoff Mead stood down after a further eight years on Council,
during which he also served as President of the European Federation. Geoff
has given generously of his time on behalf of the Branch and we thank him for
this and look forward to his continued involvement as our representative on
European Working Group 5, Meat Quality. In his place on Council we welcome
Lorna Craig of Deans Foods.
