The Branch AGM was held on the 10th April during the Annual Meeting at the University of York. Minutes will be sent to all members together with the agenda for next year’s AGM. Reports and accounts for the year 2001 have already been distributed.
Dr Paul Hocking was elected as the new Branch President to succeed Prof Sally Solomon, who becomes Immediate Past President in succession to Prof Colin Whitehead. Following a postal ballot of all members, Dr Tom Acamovic and Dr James Bentley were elected to serve on Council on the retirement of Dr Nick French and Mr Patrick Garland. The retiring Councillors were warmly thanked for their service on behalf of the membership.
The post of Treasurer will remain open for the time being and, at its next meeting in October, Council will consider whether to co-opt a member to fill this position until elections at the 2003 AGM.
