WPSA - UK Branch Administration 2009/2010

The 43rd Annual General Meeting of the UK Branch of WPSA was held in The Floral Hall Complex, Southport during the Branch Annual Spring Meeting. Minutes will be sent to all members with the papers for the 2010 AGM next Spring. Elections took place to potentially fill 4 Council vacancies. Two Council Members were elected on this occasion to serve for the first time, namely Miss Lucy Gallant of Bernard Matthews Ltd and Dr Aaron Cowieson of AB Vista Feed Ingredients Ltd. Mr. Stephen Lister and Dr Victoria Sandilands had each served for four years and were eligible for re-election for a further four years. Both were re-elected for a further four year term.

At the present time it must also be mentioned that our Vice President, Mr Patrick Garland has undertaken the Branch Presidential duties in the interim period until the next AGM.

2008 Presidents Prize

The winner of the President’s Prize for the best paper presented at the 2009 Annual Meeting was Katie Wu shown here being awarded her prize by Tom Acamovic. Katie presented an excellent paper entitled ‘Effect of age of bird and litter moisture on foot pad dermatitis in turkeys'.
