The theme of 2017 symposium is “Poultry feathers and skin – the past, present and future of poultry integument”. The theme captures a wide breadth of subjects dealing with the natural first defence of birds against all insults. The organising committee has chosen an idyllic environment of Clare College in the historic and renowned city of Cambridge for this educational and timely symposium. |

The scientific committee has put together a program that will capture the aspects of biology, genetics, welfare, nutrition and other management aspects related to poultry feathers and skin looking both to the past and the future. World leading experts in the various areas of research above will make presentations on current research and thinking in their respective fields. There will also be opportunity for posters and short oral presentation in this year’s symposium. |

Getting to Cambridge
Flying: The nearest airports to Cambridge are Cambridge International Airport, London Stansted Airport and London Luton Airport.
Driving: Cambridge is linked to London and the M25 by the M11 motorway. Access from Midlands and North is via the A14 and A1. From whichever direction you are coming from, you should make for A14 to the north of Cambridge.
By Rail: There is easy connection from London Stansted Airport to Cambridge. And with Eurostar, Cambridge is a gateway to Europe.

The Venue
The Venue for the symposium is Clare College*,the second oldest college in Cambridge. It is a college rich in history and provides a relaxing setting for our conference.

Special rates have been secured for symposium delegates at the conference hotel.

Travel grants
WPSA UK made available a limited number of grants to cover the costs of registration, accommodation and meals associated with attendance at this symposium. The grants were made available on first come, first served basis are primarily to encourage attendance by students (undergraduate and postgraduate) and early career individuals in academics and industry. Application is now closed.
